Outstanding Facilities

Notre Dame Catholic College has two outstanding performance spaces, fully equipped dance and drama studios and a state of the art recording studio.

Performance Opportunities

The College gives regular performances in music, dance and drama throughout the year in the two Performing Arts auditoria as well in a range of venues throughout the City and beyond. Recent highlights include ‘A Night at the Musicals’, ‘Daisy Pulls it Off’ and the College Choir’s performance at the famous Mirabel Gardens in Salzburg, Austria. All students are encouraged to participate in the many opportunities ranging from impromptu lunchtime concerts to full scale public performances.

A Wide and Varied Curriculum.

The Performing Arts Department is proud of the range of curriculum offers open to students at key stages 3, 4 and 5. The courses on offer reflect the current opportunities in the workplace and aim to prepare students for career paths in the future. The results in public examinations at key stage 4 and 5 are outstanding and consistently outperform the national average across the country.

The performing arts subjects combine practical and creative tasks with academic rigour and appraisal. High standards of literacy are promoted throughout all key stages and follow the whole school marking policy. Students at key stage 3 produce one extended writing task per half term with pupils at key stages 4 and 5 being challenged further through a range of extended writing tasks.
