EVIDENCE OF THE SCHOOLS’ INTERNAL MONITORING AND EVALUATION OF TEACHING
AND HOW THE FINDINGS ARE USED.

The monitoring and evaluation of teaching at Notre Dame Catholic College is undertaken through regular and structured lesson observations. The format follows the following process:

The Headteacher observes all teaching staff as part of their Performance Management cycle. Joint observations are also conducted with the Headteacher and the Head of Department or member of the Leadership Team to provide continuous development in the content of lessons and the requirements expected during an OFSTED Inspection.

All teaching staff have two further observations by their Head of Department or member of the Leadership team.

There is a voluntary lesson observation programme carried out by the Leadership team. In addition lesson observations take place when issues have been identified in joint department meetings.

A teacher support plan is in operation which includes further lesson observations in areas identified for development and/or CPD needs.
